About the Fazer Mk2 Mad Van VE
Chassis & Body
The Kyosho Fazer Mk2 Mad Van VE 1/10 4WD Readyset Monster Truck stands out with its meticulous attention to scale realism and durability. The chassis is based on the FZ02L-BT platform, known for its robust construction and full-time 4WD system. Designed to handle rough-road bashing, the chassis combines a tub-type chassis that optimizes rigidity with moderate flex, ensuring it can absorb impacts while maintaining stability. The body, inspired by 1970s and 1980s American street vans, is a significant highlight. It features a bright red and white polycarbonate shell, enhanced with 3-D molded parts like a plastic grille, side mirrors, and light buckets, replacing traditional decals for a more authentic look. The addition of a roof guard further protects the body from rollovers, ensuring the van remains as striking as it is functional.
Drivetrain & Suspension
The Mad Van VE’s drivetrain and suspension systems are engineered for both performance and durability, making it an excellent choice for bashers. The vehicle comes equipped with long-type upper and lower suspension arms paired with oil shocks on both the front and rear, providing ample stroke and secure damping force for tackling various terrains. The steering knuckles, connected by ball joints, are designed to offer smooth operation and resilience against crashes. Reinforced gears within sealed front and rear gearboxes ensure the drivetrain can handle the increased power output from the brushless motor, with a reduction ratio optimized for this purpose. The inclusion of an aluminum HD center shaft, which was previously an optional upgrade, now comes standard, ensuring smooth power delivery and rotation under heavy loads. The large diameter tires are pre-glued to white wheels, delivering high grip and stability across diverse surfaces, while the integrated wheelie bar helps maintain control during aggressive acceleration.
Electronics
At the heart of the Kyosho Fazer Mk2 Mad Van VE is the powerful TORX 10E brushless motor, which, when paired with the BRAINZ 10 speed controller, propels this monster truck to higher heights. The brushless setup increases the maximum speed from 40km/h to an impressive 60km/h, delivering a 50% speed boost compared to its brushed predecessor. The motor’s sealed design protects it from dirt and dust, ensuring long-term reliability even in harsh conditions. The BRAINZ 10 speed controller is equipped with a cooling fan and can be programmed for specific performance needs, offering flexibility for different driving styles. Additionally, the system is waterproof, allowing the Mad Van VE to tackle wet conditions without hesitation. These enhancements make the Kyosho Fazer Mk2 Mad Van VE not only a high-performance vehicle but also a reliable and durable option for enthusiasts looking to experience the thrill of off-road bashing at top speeds.
