Product Description
This model kit from Copper State Models is a completely new mold! The Fuhrpanzer is a mobile bunker manufactured in Germany before World War I. Developed in the mid-1880s by German engineers Hermann Gruson and Maximilian Schumann, the Fahrpanzer was installed in several German fortifications from 1890 onwards. During combat, the Fahrpanzer moved on the 60cm narrow gauge of the concrete trench in the fortress, and was stored in the bunker when not in use. Fahrpanzers were sold to several countries, including Greece, and the sports could be moved by specialized carriages for road transport. The Fahrpanzer was operated by two gunners, and was protected by armor until it ran out of ammunition. Lacking artillery as much as other nations during World War I, the Germans removed Fahrpanzers from less important fortifications and installed them in frontline trench positions.Â
This model kit comes with a rail platform and a dedicated carriage.
