About the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo
The DRM (German Racing Championship) had two classes distinguished by displacements of 2,000cc and over, and under 2,000cc, and the Ford Zakspeed Capri Turbo was a car that challenged the BMW 320 Turbo during that era. It made its debut at the eighth DRM race in Hockenheim in summer 1978, with an extremely low nose, a wide body, and flashy markings with red and yellow flashes on a black base. This car regularly fought in the leading group and achieved victory for the first time at the spring race in Nürburgring in October 1978. The next year, it finished second at the first race of the DRM in Zolder and won the second race in Hockenheim.
