In the mid 2010s, Bandai began the Revive wave of releases, bringing modern engineering to older releases. This kit was one of many to fall under that banner.
The revive RX-78-2 Gundam features a modernized, sleeker look compared to the original HGUC release. Increased articulation is added to all the major joints and torso. It uses modernized universal joints too so you can customize your own Gunpla.
