Product Description
The U.S. Air Force has equipped 71 of its total 825 F-Ds with modified LORAN-D antennas (AN/ARN-92), which will receive signals from the Tactical Navigation Signal Station on the ground to control the fighter-bomber fleet, operating as a pathfinder. These aircraft were painted black on the underside as night fighter-bombers (night attackers), and were active in the Linebacker operation at the end of the Vietnam War. The LORAN-D antenna is called a "towel hanger" among fans of military aircraft both in Japan and overseas. This limited-edition kit precisely reproduces the LORAN-D antenna with plastic parts.
